Bay area. Phd + 15 years. Hwe. Current TC 315k. Apple first and final offer. No room to negotiate. Base/rsu/sign 228k/300k/20k Is it a good offer? Any suggestions?
No it's shit. Push for double in stock
Why not triple stock? Or 1M stock?
Apple does yearly refreshers and they can be quite good. That is a high offer and I would evaluate it more like 450k. It does mean you have to stick around and wait for the refreshers to snowball which isnât guaranteed but you can also bail at any time if you arenât satisfied.
Most SV companies only pay out RSU ârefreshersâ to a portion of eligible population (typically <50%) based on relative performance and potential. Is it different at Apple? If not, I wouldnât count on RSUs as annual compensation just because I got them at sign on. Itâs a total unknown until first cycle where you get managementâs POV of you vs your peers. You should have that calibration at your current company but itâs an unknown at a new company until you go thru one full cycle.
Whatâs the level? Why do you want to consider this offer when itâs roughly the same ?
Could you provide an approx. range on yearly cash bonus and refresher at this yoe?
Don't know the level. They don't disclose.
Iâve seen offers at 180k with 300k rsu for phd with 4-5 YOE. They had a competing offer from tesla though which helped them match to 300k rsu instead of 120k rsu
Years of experience does not correlate linearly to comp. Even a monkey knows that
Apple has money. They can definitely offer 50k sign on and north of 400 in rsu.
Sign-on seems low. If you're ICT4 the sign-on can be as high as $75k. I'm sure it's $100-125k for ICT5.
Seems low. Looks like low end iic5. May be signon can be bumped
