Hi folks, I have received verbal offer 185k base 150k RSU vesting over 4 years, 25K sign on in Apple SEG Cupertino CAD/software. I have 15yoe and most of it is relevant. I have MS in EE and 10 patents/20 papers. I am expecting another offer from a Semiconductor company and also interviewing with 2 more companies. I don’t know the IC level. I have asked for improved offer. Any suggestions what should be the IC level and offer. Given the recent issues with Apple sales etc, should I expect a lower offer ?
Don't know the exact trend in CAD roles..but with 15 YOE & 10 patents, it seems like you have been massively low balled mate. I'd have imagined your TC to be at least ~$275K (if not more).

I found it hard to push the base too high in semiconductors. But Apple May do it. Definitely ask for more RSUs. I think 240 TC is doable for MS + 10 years. Yours could be a little higher.
Recruiter was saying getting 200k base would not be possible.
Regarding the IC, you should shoot for IC5. Any updates on the offer ?
Can be much higher I feel. is the rsu 150k total or 150 per year? Latter is better, former is pretty bad mate

That sounds like a very very low offer for your experience. Is CAD software something less difficult or less in demand then Software engineering

What about yearly cash bonus? Also clarify if the 150k vests over 4 years, or is per year. (From my experience on Blind, people put the yearly RSUs vesting, not the total grant.) Granted, Apple tends to work differently in that they give large (about 100k) refreshers every year, so you’re really only raking in the dough after 4 years of working there. Regardless, Apple looks phenomenal on the resume. I’d accept.

I doubt everyone gets 100k refresh. I know people(15+ YOE) getting less than that in first year refresh
