dafuq is self-consciousness. You’re worried people will frown upon you working at an ‘evil’ company lmao? Optimize for pay/work/team/culture not ridiculous stuff like “self-consciousness”
It’s not ridiculous. Where you work and the cause you are working for can influence your passion and love for the work you do. Constantly having to defend the morality of the company you work for and hearing news can affect you emotionally. And if you want to talk about pay, let’s not forget that stock is an important part of compensation that can be negatively influenced by the way that your company conducts immoral business practices.
It's a concept only known by people who are at the famous homeaway FB employees can choose to go to apple with a lower bar of entry. The reverse is far harder.
