Applied/Research scientist at Amazon accept master?

I see on LinkedIn that there are ones without PhD get into research scientist and applied scientist positions at Amazon. Some of them just come from mediocre master program with several years’ experience. Is that very rare case?

It is possible but could be though. The interview requires you to present original research

Amazon applied research scientists are not machine learning scientists . The job descriptions can be deceiving but a masters is good enough to become research or applied. Our team has more than 45 such people. Whatever colleges they came from , does not really matter. If they are good at what they do is what our teams see

But what does it take to be one? I mean what is the interview like?

How do you even get an interview for a research or applied scientist?
