Australia or Canada

Like a place that is sunny and slightly warm all year around? I'm in US with Visa, thinking to move to either of these countries.q

You joke, but Calgary gets 2396 hours of sunlight per year on average! (~333 sunny days) It's the sunniest city in the country 🌞😎

If you want sunny and slightly warm, why would you even consider Canada?

Don't know. Probably if I can get a French lady to make warmth and put me in sunnier side of life.

If you're in the US already, then California is sunny and slightly warm. I moved here from Australia and actually prefer the weather here, Australia can get too hot in summer.

Visa is PITA. I think America is not immigrant friendly like my home, Singapore.

Can you become a citizen of Singapore in 5 years?

I thought elementary school teach you how to read map? These two countries can’t be in this question.

Do you have suggestions. The sample space is fairly large. Looking on equator puts me in Africa.

Australia is way better weather wise

Im originally from Aus - Australia has amazing climate, beaches, very bad almost open hostility to the tech scene though slowly improving. Canada has much better tech scene (actual tier 1 offices), worse weather than the US. Take your pick.

Why is Aussie too much hostile about? Also is it more due to skin color?

Uber zhdbwb May 27, 2019

Gov actively sabotages tech industry, internet is extremely slow, avg household has 5mbps, no offices for any tier 1 company aside from Google. WLB is very high priority but that also means barely anything gets gone. There is a bit of racism also but it’s fairly overstated, Australia is extremely multicultural in the cities, white is minority in parts of Melbourne. The tech industry in Aus is mostly Indian/Asian 1st or 2nd generation.

I live in Vancouver, Canada and the weather here is actually closer to Seattle than it's to the rest of Canada. We don't get much snow either and the city isn't really equipped to handle it anyways

Go to Canada . With the recent anti immigrant stance lot of highly skilled immigrants are moving there . If the hostility continue the trend will only accelerate and will lead to a healthy tech ecosystem .

God, Mexico should have made their fair share. Canada's weather is too gloomy for my liking.

Expedia hnAy18 May 27, 2019

Canada has better tech companies and offices. Australia doesn't have any FANG apart from Google Sydney office and AWS sales architect. Salaries on average (non FANG) Australia is better. For Indians, Australia is more racist. Life is cheaper in Canada. No country is perfect. It depends on your priorities. Ambitious and career driven? Go for Canada. Want to screw your career and care about your WLB? Go to Australia
