I’m planning to make a move and trying to understand what it takes to be in director role at google and how does the overall comp looks like? I’m interested in engineering and sre world but also open for business and client facing roles. Preferred location Bay Area. Thanks you!
$1 million for engineering
TC: 90K. sorry, google low-balls nowadays
Most likely they'll place you at L4. L5 if interview goes well. 😂
What's your background? YoE? Role? Company?
YOE-19years, visa, lead sw engineer (i7). I have experience in building teams from scratch and deliver products targeting high volume traffic. Hands on C, Ruby on Rails, Unix, python, spring, android and iOS sdk. Working on improving JS skills.
How many levels above staff is i7?
Google will down level. Director level people at Google have all been SVP in a large corporation. Most likely u will get L4 or L5.
Study dp hard
If you are wavering between Director roles in 4 significantly different areas of focus, you're not a Director.
Thanks for summarizing the problem with this post so succinctly.
How much do directors at google make
