I don’t know if people are just trying to fuck with me because I’m new to public transit having moved from LA but multiple random passengers and co-workers have said that no one actually enforces the parking fees at the train stations: true or false?
I used BART for a year and a half but never got a ticket for not paying. I always paid though.
Not true for BART. Parking is just about the only rule BART does enforce, in fact. You might not get a ticket if you don’t pay, but the odds aren’t worth it.
Caltrain heavily checks their parking I know from experience. Just get the daily or monthly pass because you’ll be ticketed.
Bart doesn’t fuck around. Will give out tickets everyday.
I’ve accidentally not paid and not gotten ticketed before, but it’s not something you can count on, for sure.
BART giving tickets for unpaid parking is the only thing they do right. Heck I paid for parking but still got the ticket last month.
Do not even dream about it. They enforce strictly. Officers are incentivized to give tickets when you do not pay. It’s not worth for that $3 parking. I park in Milbrae and they enforce very strictly
They absolutely enforce for both Caltrain and Bart. I have plenty of parking tickets to prove it
For all we know someone else could have taken the ticket off your windshield and put it on theirs — the parking enforcers will not ticket an already “ticketed “ car, and your bill ends up in collections!
Can’t imagine why they wouldn’t enforce parking in their own parking lot —guaranteed to earn more than what whey spend
