Taking a break to refresh basics after three failures , please do suggest any other pointers Yoe: 16+ TC: 74 LPA /$ 100k
Leetcode premium and go through all the explore items
I think Algorithms by Sedgewick is easier to digest than CLRS. Nevertheless, they’re all good books
US$100k based in India? That is very comfortable, no?
It is not bad , at my experience you can easily find people with 100L+
Idk imo CLRS is totally overkill for interviews. Just grind leetcode and learn from other people's approaches and solutions. If you get asked some obscure exotic algo in an interview just chalk it up to bad luck and move on
This is very interesting. Congratulations on such a good salary. Are the salary numbers for Bangalore ? Are you a software engineer or management ?
You’re mistaken if you think these books will get you the job. Big tech companies such as the one’s you’ve mentioned don’t give a crap if you truly are good at System Design or if you’re a great engineer. If you got the interviews, all they care about is how well you can LeetCode and if you’ve ran through Grokking and System Design Primer. Why is this? Because most of the people interviewing you will be your junior.
Okay ...after failing in three interviews morale is down ...its more for gaining back confidence and I may be wrong here
I don’t think you are wrong OP. Take your time and learn the topics you are weak at. It’s just not about interviews. It will help you get good at your job as well and gain the lost confidence.
74 lpa is a big number in India. Lalach bohot buri chiz hai
I don't think I said i have low TC ...but I like to keep challenging my self every 3-4 years...and this time I failed poorly... So I must be doing something wrong...need to correct it
Are the interviews as brutal for senior people as they are in the silicon valley counterparts?
Out of all only Google provided detailed feedback...I think interviews are structured and if we are well prepared we can crack...I have no idea about silicon valley interviews.. in Google and Amazon my interviewer were from US
What was the feedback?
Code complete is a good book
Didn't think one would still need CLRS at 16 yoe, good thing mine is intact... :D How much does Martin Kleppman's book cost in India btw?
INR 1600
BTW I am from non comp science background so I learned on the Job
