Just some data for folks who are still in denial. Along with the value, notice the lower high (for Santa Clara County) in 2019 ? Source : https://wolfstreet.com/2019/08/15/housing-bubble-2-in-san-francisco-bay-area-silicon-valley-is-cooked/
Keep crashing please
I think there will be another spike when the bart finally finishes 2020
Ha ha. Realtors have been selling that point since last 4 years.
You simply don’t have chart reading skills. July of 2018 was an abnormal year if you look at the long term trend.
It’s funny that we never heard the term ‘abnormal’ in 2018 ;) Just like stock market, things always get super crazy before the tide turns. Taking analogy of stocks : FOMO kicks in and people on the fence give all they got to chase. Consider this similar to short squeeze.
All the folks who wants more affordable housing built (Yimbys) last year weren’t making just noise. They were asking to tackle this abnormal spike in housing. And don’t be mistaken this this is dip from last year is due to recession fears. The fears are due to trade war (a small effect) but a huge effect being uncertainty of H1B and H4 visas that are being denied. The scaremongering of Trump’s immigration policies have pushed back a lot of families to sit on the sidelines from housing market this year.
Man. Right after i sold an eye to buy house .. thanks Obama
where did you buy?
Still looks up and to the right overall...
That's a "pop"? 🙄 Here's a 30-year chart. Housing prices can't be monotonic. I doubt they'll ever return to 2000 levels, but a correction or pause here and there is expected and welcome. https://www.marymacphersonsf.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/30-years-of-san-francisco-bay-area-real-estate-cycles-12.jpg Based on a rough sightline, I would expect a 15% reversion to the mean, and you're saying we got 10% of that already.
Despite ipo millionaires? I guess this writer doesn’t know about lockout periods.
Ha ha. Nice try. Realtors were humming that song for past 7-8 months...”buy now because IPO millionaires are coming and they will buy everything”. Look how that turned out. The article above mentions this as well.
Were you planning on buying op? If so which area?
Where is this data from
