TC then gtfo
Not much tbh
At first, I thought they were trying to take you to court hahaha
I was contacted four times when I declined them for G. Each time I politely declined stating that I am not looking to move outside of Google at the moment.
Super relevant
I just came back from visiting the NY office and things are going well there. That office was never toxic, the drama was in SF a year ago. Since then everyone who wanted to leave left, people who were jerks, fired and now things are pretty good. I personally like working here, a lot. Dara did a big cleaning (skeletons out of the closet), we are still growing massive (esp in NYC & EATS), we still have a lot of autonomy and IPO is fast approaching in 2019. Engineering is still small compared to big companies like FB & Google and we’re building up many of our global systems. Ok, here’s a juicy story: one of the first mobile engineers who was known to lose his temper with others at times... he got sacked about 9 months ago. At the time when Dara came in and we out a zero tolerance for being a jerk. But this was also SF.
found your recruiter op
TC?
New CEO! He was ours at Expedia. One of the most ethical guys out there. He’s cleaning them up.
It's more different than you could imagine in a year. I love the team, love the work and love that what I do is relevant. It's a totally different vibe
As a NY engineer, since I see a bit of snark in your post, I’d rather prefer you stay at FB than come join us. Good luck!
Snark wasn’t my intention. I just remember some unpleasant interactions during the post interview phase which were at the back of my mind when I phrased this question. And I wasn’t careful about wordsmithing since this is an anon forum.
How can I rephrase this question to remove the perceived snark? It’s an honest inquiry.
TC needed
Updated because I don’t mind sharing it although I don’t know how TC is relevant or how someone working at Cisco is gonna be able to answer a question targeted at Uber NYC
First rule of blind: TC is always relevant
