Which EV you would pick for 2019. Now that Chevy is not going to be selling Volt, am looking to buy/lease my next EV. Considering factors: - Long Range - Low cost (with tax credit)
Tesla Model 3. The only ones that rival it at the lower price point are Kona and Niro. But they are still compliance cars and it doesn't seem like Hyundai or Kia are actually interested in producing nearly enough to meet demand. They are focusing on other markets and probably won't actually be available in US until 2020 or later despite their early 2019 promise. By that time there will hopefully be even more options available.
I would lease any of them at a 1/2 to 2/3rds cost of the equivalent monthly purchase payment. Buying EV's doesn't make sense with how fast the tech is changing unless it is a business right off.
Volt is still availabile on lots just not produced
Interested to know what people got for a 3 year lease option in 2019 for Nissan leaf and Chevy Bolt. I am looking at EV lease options. Went to a dealer today, and total cost of lease for 3yrs on a leaf-S (base model) was $14.5k (excluding PGE & CA rebates). It appears quite a lot since a lot of my colleagues were boasting about <5k cost of ownership over 3yrs. :)
Bolt right now is $9999 one pay minus $3300 rebates
Do you know if this deal still exists?
Chevy bolt
Yeah I think a lot of people think bolt and volt are the same thing. Chevy only discontinued the PHEV (volt), not the EV (bolt). OP should include bolt in the poll.
