How long have you lived in the US?
Go to a class, find a teacher you like and go to there class consistently. Yoga is the kind of thing where direct instruction makes a huge difference. The reason is that most of being “good at yoga” involves really doing the breathing and getting a lot of little idiosyncratic details right. Based on experience of a 5 year practice, doing a 200 hour teacher training and teaching yoga for 1.5 years.

Go to a class because good yoga instructors will help you fix your positioning if you're doing it wrong. After a few classes, once you're comfortable with the poses, then you can do it at home through videos if you want.
