Blizzard Rep Email about Interview Then Nothing

Hey, everyone! New to posting on Blind, so bear with me... Three weeks ago, I was emailed by a recruiter at Blizzard who wanted to speak to me about a position I had applied for, and it seemed urgent in its tone. I replied within 24hrs with the information they asked for, and then... nothing. I waited a week and sent them another email. It has now been three weeks, and I haven't gotten a response to either message. Has anyone had an experience like this with Blizzard? What happened? Does this seem normal? I'm not in a hurry or anything, and I know Blizzard is slow, but I'd like for my emails to be acknowledged--if anything to know they went through. BlizzCon is coming up, which could be a factor in their silence right now, as could the whole Hong Kong debacle, I guess. I have the rep's phone number, and I was thinking about calling, but I don't want to seem pushy, especially if that is why. What do y'all think? Thanks!

Instead, for Hordes! Did you say for Hong Kong?

Glad to hear hiring is still a load of shit. I had a similar experience when I first applied. Granted with your posting being urgent that doesn't make sense. Possibly someone else was chosen and you got ghosted? Try poking them on LinkedIn after blizzcon, things always get fucky in the weeks leading up to it.

Yeah, I could see that... I'm going to be at BlizzCon anyway... They usually have reps there, don't they? Might stop by and say "Hello." ... Sincerely though. That... sounded inappropriately ominous the way I said it. Or is that dumb? Maybe that's dumb.

Not sure. I think so? I've seen stuff like portfolio reviews but I'm not sure if hiring managers are sitting at a booth vpning in to check requisition statuses. They might offer more generic advice similar to mine. Might be worth a shot. Don't let it shit on an experience you paid for, though.

Happened to me with another company. You can always go to the website and apply for the mentioned role directly.

I wasn't clear in how I phrased it. I did apply directly, and they were contacting me regarding my application.

blizzcon was going to be super akward after last year even without the HK stuff. I wonder how this will go down. Wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled

Blizzard recruiters/hiring are notoriously terrible. I had to wait literally 9 months for a result from an INTERNAL opening. I know people who’ve had external hirings take months. I’d say don’t sweat too much. But I wouldn’t put other opportunities on hold either.
