For those of you who work at Bloomberg, what is your salary progression each year like?
If are you are breathing you should get about 5% If you are above average 8%-10% is not unrealistic
Really? It seems there’s senior SWE vs entry-level? So the salary is based on performance? But who will evaluate your performance?
Well technically there is senior vs junior, but it doesn’t show up anywhere, it’s purely an HR thing. If you get hired as junior you will automatically become senior after 3 years, regardless of performance. But I would still recommend applying for Senior SWE role if you have 2 YOE or more. Your manager (and his manager) will evaluate your performance. There are of course managers here, even though there are no titles. Salary increases are based on performance (as is bonus; no stock obviously), yes. But because there are no levels, there are also no “promotions”, except promotion to manager.
It’s actually not a bad system. People are much less stressed because they aren’t chasing a “senior” or “principal” title.
If you did get Bloomberg’s offer or if done with Interview, can you please tell us your study stats?
