Got internship offers from both companies. Akuna pays way better, but I assume Bloomberg has better wlb and exposure to larger scale systems. Cost of living is lower in Chicago, but life is so much better in NYC. What are the other pros and cons? Which offer will potentially lead to better future opportunities? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
I would also care about the systems I would be working on. Bloomberg has some legacy tech that my grandpa worked on...
Both are TBD. Bloomberg has a matching process but I've heard bad things about it. Akuna is smaller in size and I assume the projects will be more meaningful.
Akuna dev interns work 8-5.
So it's normal 8 hours including a lunch break? I assume projects are more challenging at Akuna and thus I can learn more from them. Do you mind sharing how you feel about working as a dev in Akuna?
I was an intern this past summer. Your experience heavily depends on your manager. Generally, you’re placed on a project by yourself and you’re expected to move pretty quickly and produce results; which is daunting but a good learning experience.

If you want to do trading, go to Akuna. Learn then jump to better prop shops or hedge funds like Jane Street, Citadel, or Two Sigma. If you want WLB, Bloomberg
