Booking salary for senior engineer and also what's the average salary in Amsterdam for 5 yoe engineer.
Last i heard it was 60K Euro / year
For regular devs its like 62-78k + 15% cash + stock, seniors get 80-100k base + 20% cash + stock
Above seems legit according to internal Blind posts.
80-90k Euro/year base + bonus + stocks. Booking pays at the top end of Amsterdam employers.
Damn. So if I move to Amsterdam, tree fiddy will become just fiddy? :(
They don't care about language, just years of experience
Also try IMC and Uber. They pay more than Booking in Amsterdam. Senior are level G at Booking and have a wide range of 80-100k salary + 20% target bonus + stocks vesting over 3 years If you get an offer, negotiate the best and try to get a good relocation and sign on bonus because the last I heard they don’t give initial stock grant for new hires (at least for level F) and also because you’ll not be able to get the best performance score in your first year (so you’ll not get the whole 20% bonus) because they have a stupid rule that the first quarter since we haven’t seen enough of your work we will give you a “needs improvement” score. If your yearly score is not at least “meets expectation” you won’t get bonus or raid to the salary! And it’s very easy to get a “needs improvement” review score, specially if you are with a bad team lead or in a bad track.
Just to be clear, the bonus target for senior role is 0 to 40%. Also don't agree that you cannot get 20% in first year..
It all depends on your TL and the track you’re in. Some people get higher score than deserved and many get lower specially the first few quarters. I’m just telling him don’t be overselled with the recruiter trying to convince you it’s very easy to exceed expectation and double that 20%.
Don’t waste your time honestly
I am working at Booking since Feb 2017. My first quarter I had meets expectations and since I am exceeding. My bonus was 34%.
Don’t bother.
Seniors at Booking are not just really good coders. In fact most of them are quite mediocre coders. Collaboration, communication is valued more than craftsmanship. Make an informed decision
No idea what you're talking about.
