Boston vs Silicon Valley

I am currently working in Boston and looking for job change for career growth. Bay Area Pay May be slightly higher but the cost of living and house prices are higher too. Suggest me if moving to Bay Area still makes sense considering const of living, house prices and career growth in mind.

Just did the exact opposite for aforementioned reasons, having a family in the bay right now is idiotic and you have to justify EVERYTHING along the way to yourself (schools in *blank* in the bay are fine compared to other in the bay, the ratings are getting better if you look at projections/tiny house with no land may be worth $2m but if you look at trendlines, I will not lose out on interest... 🙄etc etc etc)

Where do you work at in Boston? Cause I don't think cruise has a Boston office right?

Went to a small av company here, they don't have a blind 😬

Also thinking of moving to Boston. Good companies hiring Dev mgrs?

You can probably get into Amazon as is?

There's also startups if you look around

Move to Seattle instead 🙂 no state income tax, lower cost of living than Bay Area, but still lots of tech companies and career opportunities

Cost of living is significantly higher for significantly worse housing in Bay Area and the schools are not as good as Boston. Yes, more Tech companies.

Don’t move here for the career, although it will be a step up, but you’ll never earn enough for the cost of living. Move here for the weather. It’s the one factor of life that will unequivocally improve.

FB has a Boston office and I believe they're growing.
