We have recently moved to Bellevue, family of four. planning to buy a home. Budget is 1m and work place is SLU. what would you recommend ? samammish seems to have bigger houses while Bothell is nearer. kirkland is another option but i didnt explore as much. TC 375
The commute from Bothell would be tough but you might get more for your money. Of the 3 you mentioned, Sammamish would probably be my pick.
Because of greenery or commute or house sizes ?
Greenery is everywhere here :) I personally like being at least a little removed from the metro area. Kirkland isn't a bad choice either though.
My brother lives in Sammamish and works in Redmond. His commute is 45 mins.
Bothell - newer houses with good schools. Sammamish is old and a boring place to live.
Issaquah, South Bellevue - near i90
In Bothell you will get even bigger house than Sammamish..even at 1M price point you can get in. kKirkland at current market
Sammamish is distinctly a higher class neighborhood. Better community. Safer community. Better schools. Cleaner neighborhoods. Bothell is a mixed bag of nuts. Go with Sammamish. Catch the express bus into SLU.
By higher class you mean mostly the Chinese folks living in Sammamish?
Higher class as is higher education and more money. But with that affluence comes some negatives. Lots of the kids in high school get caught up in exotic drugs. It’s been a problem for a while. But there’s zero sketch factor in that city. When I lived there it was mostly white, but I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the kids on the classrooms now have non-American names today.
Should checkout klahanie in sammamish
South Sammamish is not bad but Bothell or north Sammamish would be commuting nightmare. Why don't you try Redmond?
Buy closer to 520, otherwise your commute will be horrible. There's plenty of homes under 1m in Grass lawn/Rose Hill. They are older, however with proper renovation it's worth it. Bonus: good public schools.
Very few house choices
You only need one?
