I’m not planning on switching jobs for at least a couple years. But I’m thinking of doing burner interviews with high paying companies like twitter, Dropbox, fb, G, etc, for networking purposes. I could connect with engineers who interview me at those companies, and then I could reach out to those people later when I do actually want to switch jobs. Also, I could stay in touch with my recruiters, and if I get offers, I would decline but say I’m highly interested in reconsidering later, and hopefully the recruiters would also keep pinging me to rethink. With these connections, and with previous offers, I’m hoping that my interview process at these companies would be expedited next time, when I wanna switch jobs. At least, hopefully the connections would help me get interviews, even if I would have to go thru the full process. Also, if I get an offer for a certain engineering level, I’m hoping I could use that as evidence to request that I should be interviewed for the next higher level the next time. Do u folks agree that doing these burner interviews would help for the next time I interview, with the intent to switch? What do u recommend? TC ~191 due to trillion market cap 🧢
Networking?? Or burning bridges. You do burners with small companies not with the likes of big G.Somehow you look pretty analytically challenged to me.
Bruh
Tell them your situation and ask for an informational interview. It accomplishes the same thing and starts the relationship
Hey come to my house and say that to my face bitch 162 Wharf Ave dirty white house right next to the gentleman's club
This is a joke right??
Burners or burning bridges? You decide!
Ok I was actually serious but based on the comments I’ve changed my mind 🙂
Interviewing is hard enough, if you waste my time, I will never talk to you again
If there is anything I’m not interested in it is “connecting” with people I interviewed. If you blew my mind I’ll do all I can do you get the offer you can’t refuse. If you suck then why would I even bother networking with you?
Yeah, don't overthink it, it's just called networking.
lmfao wtf
