Can companies fire you before the pip ends?
Just curious, how does pip process work in your company. Can folks in pip get fired even before pip ends?
Yes. That’s the nature of the PIP. If you can’t keep pace with the weekly-ish goals, you get cut loose, typically before the end of the stated observation period.
Agreed. A friend was put on pip. And he knew that his days there are numbered. So instead of working on the goal he intentionally started watching movies loudly on his phone in his cube. He was shown the door earlier besides getting 2-3 month severance. He was too happy with that actually
How can he get 2-3 months severance? He must have been at the company a long time. And if that's the case, what didn't be get PIP'd sooner?...
Companies can fire you any second. Pip or no pip. Just like you can leave any second.
