Career as Bioinformatics or in healthcare

My wife did 4 years Bachelor degree in Pharmacy outside of USA. Now she moved permanent in US. She is exploring different options for her career. She stumbled upon Bio informatics program. Any suggestions or ideas about career in there? Any other recommendations in medical/health care? She is looking for maximum 2-3 years program. Thanks in advance.

If she is open to studying, she could look at data science for health care. Her background would give her a significant advantage.

Few people suggest Healthcare administration as well since it doesn't have math or statistics requirements.

Bioinformatics is good. Can leave the field as SWE or as a data scientist, or stay as a bioinformatics scientist at quite a few companies. Will require PhD - so 3-5 additional years of schooling. PhD does seem to help open doors to more senior leadership roles.

Listen I was initially admitted to pharmacy school after my bachelor here, but I changed my mind for Master in Biomedical Engineering. After that I learned machine learning. Today I earn as much as a pharmacist working for a healthcare company. Tell her to consider that for healthcare company/ biotech .

Thank you for your feedback. Glad that it worked out for you. Would you suggest Healthcare Administration or Health and Clinical informatics program?

Something with informatics will be more valuable to be honest. Ask what she wants to do first or like and actually consider what the industry looks like job wise .
