Changing from F1 to H4
Hi there, My wife is currently working on F1 OPT and she wants to change status and go on H4. I know either 1) She can go to US Consulate and give an interview and get the H4 or 2) She can apply for change of status with USCIS which I heard takes around 6 months. So I want opinions on what is the recommended way here given the new goverment and strict policies. #ChangeOfStatus #H4 #F1 #OPT

Best option is to find a job and directly apply for H1B on her own. It helps a lot if both of you have H1Bs. Even if one of you lose job, you can continue staying here as dependant of other and find a new job.

Hello I am in a similar situation. What did you end up doing?
Why change to H4? You have H4 ead?
I am on h1b but my spouse is currently on F1 and might want to take a break from her current job- hence we are thinking of changing her status to h4 and then we are going to file for her H4 EAD.
