I have worked 2 years in Cisco India. I am joining back Cisco in San Jose after my Masters. They are offering me Grade 6 at 117k base+ 6% bonus and 9k relocation. Should I ask them for Grade 8 with 135k, 12% bonus? Would that be fair to ask that?
Grade 8 is for PhD new grad. If you think your experience is equal to that, go for it.
No
Why not grade 7?
They have 6 and then 8. There is no 7.
Cisco does not negotiate new grad offers and is standard for everyone joining out of college. That applies to grade, base pay, bonus and relocation. If you've previously had work experience, that adds a little on top of the standard new grad offer. Less that 5k to your base. That's about it.
You're wrong
Care to explain? I joined as a new grad and this is what I heard from the hr, and many people who joined with me got the same exact offers.
Yes, ask for it. I doubt if they will go for it. But at the very least ask for higher base pay and may be some rsu's too. Don't settle for what they are giving u now
AFAIK, Cisco does not give RSUs to new grads
Read my post down below...there is no standard rule when it comes to money. Everything is bendable :) majority don't get because they don't ask or are easily suppressed.
There is no standard rule to anything no matter how many times they say it, especially when it comes to money. So, just ask
Cisco is notorious for pulling offers....
What equity does Cisco give? ESPP?
It. Depends... Bonus + RSUs +ESPP
