Need help deciding whether to transfer to Cloud or Youtube.

Currently, bored af on a lame af team.

All I’m looking for is a chill team with a chill on-call. Idgaf about scale, growth or “interesting” challenges.

My WLB is probably unmatched right now; working around 20-25 hours on a busy week. If the team/work is cool, I’ll happily increase this to 30-35.

I’m fine with MTV, SVL or SBO.

Aside from voting, for those who have worked in these orgs, I’d appreciate the “why” also.

Btw, I’m only choosing these 2 because they’re the ones that are usually mentioned when considering WLB.

Thanks

    • Exactly my point look at amazon. Do you really think google is going to compete, iaas is already so cheap any cheaper aws would be losing money.

    • Yes, they will compete with no prob. Google has way more resources than amazon. Google is cheaper than amazon.

for me, on call was not stressful. But it was consistently > 50 hrs/week. More on few occasions.

Why post this externally? Most of the people in this thread who aren't Googlers have no idea what they're talking about. You can repoll in the Google-only lounge, and will get drastically different responses.

Something tells me the result will be similar. No overwhelming winner.

Cloud seems pretty chill, down for a few hours last week and no one was fired. YouTube was also down, so maybe they’re both chill.
