Anyone have any insights into Collective Health and their dev culture? Is it a good company to work for? What do prospects for growth look like for the company? It’s not publicly traded, so hard to find financial data for it.
The dev culture focuses on giving teams and individuals enough autonomy to really own their work There is a healthy tension between product and engineering to come up with a roadmap to support both infrastructure/tech debt needs vs net new product to will help grow the business. Prospects for the company are good - they really are the only technology company going after employer self funded benefits which makes up about 1/3 of healthcare spend in the US.
is this still true?
Dev culture at Collective Health is quite good. PMs, engineers, designers, etc each own their own work and collaborate well (yes there is tension sometimes but all towards producing the best output). When there is disagreements the dispute is over ideas, rarely if ever over personalities. Lots of smart passionate people working hard to make healthcare better.
I just joined collective three months ago. Loving it so far
What are the maternity/paternity policies at CH? Is WFH allowed, if yes how many days? Given their location is so odd from Bart station.. Asking this from engineering team perspective?
Do you guys know when collective health is going for IPO?
I think it is very positive. We have a fairly diverse team. The company is driven by the product team, not engineering. This means engineering excellence isn’t a big thing. Instead delivering things on time is more important. The team isn’t a tear you apart for mistakes kind of team. It is quite supportive. There are two former open table engineers at CH you might be able to get connected with.
