I’m getting $68/h for an applications engineer role at FB mpk as contractor, my agency can’t tell me the markup margin. What is the average for this role? Any contractors in here? Edit 1: My contract is about to be renewed, I think that my agency is being greedy, so I’m looking for comparison rates for me to level things up. So far I found it to be 87~95 for my yoe. Thoughts?
30% for direct client + 10% for each layer
Do you still get to have the free food if you are a contractor? Are you treated differently from the FTE?
This question is off topic but I’ll answer because it’s related to contracting. I believe everyone on campus gets free food, as far as how we are treated there are things that could be better, one example is that I don’t get to go through bootcamp, when I started, my team did not required that I start creating right away but they expected a few weeks for me to get on top of my game using the internal tools, on my second week I put a stop to their learning material and decided to start working on a project and learn as I go. I also don’t get to go to any Facebook events. No gym One thing that really got me upset was a project that I worked on with a few selected folks (I was the only one assigned to the application development side of the tool). At one of the presentations of this project to higher ups I noticed my name missing in the presentation. Thinking it was a mistake, I questioned and I was told that it was because I‘m a contractor. I couldn’t believe on what I was hearing, I just laughed and left. Eventually they added my name in the project, I wouldn’t give a shit if I were an FTE because the structure is different but contractors needs to show their work and be heard, or else your contract is over soon and no one knows who you were or what you did.
That's how it is. You don't need credit, it's not like contractors are subject to a performance review. The FTE is the owner of the business area they're managing. They decided to hire a contractor because they needed a temporary resource.
The simplest way you can get to know exact money they are asking for you from Fb is by following these steps: 1-make friends with someone in Fb erp oracle team who has access to oracle prod and test environments. Ask Helpdesk on who can fix your oracle issues and they will direct you to that team.. incase you are wondering where to find this team.. 2- ideally that someone should have access to purchasing and po entry user. Specifically Iprocurement . 3. Ask him to run a query in back end in po headers all as well as ap invoices all where vendor name like <insert your vendor name> and if I recall it also has description of vendor services or professional service or consultant.. 4. Once you narrow down in sql look for requisition or po or invoice then ask ur friend from step 1 to login to the oracle test environment and download attachment from these documents related fo req or po or invoice to see in excel how much they asked for you..
Mad !
Why will the person agree to do this for me..
Don't know the specifics, but generally there contracting companies take 20-40%
