Wondering, does Costco IT have a reputation in the Seattle area?
Decent but cheap
Last time I interviewed there, they were based out of Issaquah. The recruiter said WLB is great but salaries are lower than other Seattle area companies.
Adjusted WFH policy…final outcome still tbd. Salary ranges have been increased. The old white guys running the show may finally be realizing running a warehouse is not like IT if you want to stand a chance
WFH is going to go the way of the buffalo as soon as they can force it. Hemorrhaging talent due to inability / refusal to pay enough to cover cost of living or inflation Basically, it's an straight old white guy - boomer mentality to the core all around
It's a low stress 40hr a week org. They're not chasing the next "big" thing, but working to stay up to date with the rest of the "digital" industry. Their base is on par with everyone else in tech, but they're TC drops because they don't offer equity. In the current market, a high base with a super stable company might be the way to go.
TIL Costco has an IT department.
Yes, it's huge. Over 1,700 FTE and 1,200 contractors.
