What age bracket ? Outdoor loving or the lazy kind ? You know the Bay Area is a massive place where you can do a different activity every day and still keep yourself occupied for a year or so. (Add some leetcoding in between lmao)

Instead Muir Woods I would recommend big basin, nice full day driving up or down the coast line. Having a coffee at the Ritz Carlton in Halfmoon Bay and do a walk on the beach. In Aptos is a mounting bike dealer, where you can rent a bike and get transport up the hill to enjoy a nice downhill ride through Nisene Forest. You don't have to be a biker for that - if you are, the bike park in Soquel might be a better choice

Not sure what your ‘etc’ covers but muir woods, sausalito, half moon bay, santa cruz, monterey bay aquarium are other good places.
