Culture of Mean Girls
Wondering if anyone has experienced a “Mean Girls” culture within your organizations. It’s rampant at Salesforce, unfortunately. If you’re not in with the cool kids, you’re essentially ostracized. Why are women so awful to each other in the workplace?
You will get fired from an engineering role in favor of some “hipster” who knows much less, but who trims his eye brows and bi-weekly hair cuts. It’s all the fault of women, and men’s illogical spell that they are under. Being a top engineer is a terrible and ugly curse. At a smaller company you can get away with being a great engineer - once a company (Google) stagnates and the high school football team onboards, the best appeal you have is to own a gun.
I heard about that.. unfortunately, there is no other way. Get out and start fresh.
As you said, they are Kids....they have no idea what they are doing..
That’s normal - now that there are many woman - the real catfight begins - preciously it was about diversity and hence woman were brought up - hired even if they didn’t clear multiple rounds (this happened in my previous company) - now that there are so many , they have to show their power :)
Same politics I face, I get it! It’s truly unfortunate.

Yeah well I work in engineering so there aren’t that many women. Have to just make friends with the nice dudes who are equality allies

Mean girls only? Have u seen how frat boys have evolved at big companies? With their charisma and their entitled attitude, they impress their stakeholders and they crush their direct reports. They call themselves direct but just need an excuse to be mean.
It’s definitely a mean girl culture
