I applied for a role at VMware and in less than a hour received notification; not a "Thank You For Applying" notice, but they were pretty much telling me that I didn't fit their criteria they are looking for. What is their resume review process? Do they have someone sitting on the other end reviewing resumes as soon as they come in and comparing your experience to their job description? Or is it a Robo Responder? I wouldn't have applied if I didn't feel I met the qual. Seem so unfair, but it is what it is. Has anyone else experince this?
I guess the system is looking for certain key words in the resume.
So it is a Robo responder?
For 1h reject it always is.
Thanks ya'll for your feedback. Much appreciated. Maybe my chances would have been better if I knew someone on the inside.
What school did you go to ?
Again, I would not have applied if I felt I didn't meet their requirements, and that includes education. Where I studied is irrelevant.
Also possible that the position is closed
It has only been posted 3 hours prior to my applying.
Some companies just post a listing online but it is an internal hire. For h1b purposes. Could be that case as well.
Lmao no one looked at your application don’t feel bad. Go look up “applicant tracking system” that will take you down the rabbit hole of auto-reject systems and you’ll learn the scary truth about how unlikely it is hat your resume ever even gets seen by a human at most large companies.
Funny how the same guys who flip out when they don't hear back from the recruiter after they have a phone screen days ago are the same guys complaining about automated responses. Recruiters have dozens of jobs to handle, with sometimes over 100 candidates per opening. It's impossible to reach out to everyone, and some companies measure their metrics on the reach of every applicant. Too many applicants, too little resources, that's just how things are...
Just work on resume you would be fine.
May be, the position is filled up internally, and yet to remove job posting..
