Anyone got any experience with discover? It’s their downtown chicago office. recruiter has given a comp estimate and it’s pretty competitive. This is for a product job. Wondering about wlb, culture... People have commented about visa/amex before, but never discover so its slightly unknown.

Nah fam. Those are for the same people who got the headphone jack in their iPhone 6 filled in to make it look like it was an iPhone 7.

Wow, that was for software engineering? I didnt realize that the difference between coastal tech companies and midwest companies were that huge. When you said 72k for 5 yoe, i assumed it was a non-eng role.

Yes it was an engineering role. Every single developer at dfs complains of low pay. The benefit is u can coast there for years with great job stability as most teams have been there forever.

Random midwest example: 3 YOE, software engineer, $105 base, 10% bonus.

I agree with most comments here. The work life balance and vacation time is great along with some other benefits. Pay is on the lower side and the work environment may seem a little laid back to some people. Great job stability so you do see people you've been around for years together which may or may not be a bad thing.

They paid 105k+bonus(7%) for 6yoe in Business Technology in HQ office for Paygrade 7/senior associate. Pay was okay, wlb is good. 25days pto to start with and goes up with yoe and wfh(depends on team). For PM Role I would say go for it. For technical roles, big no. Management does not listen to its developers, legacy technology. It is a good place to retire defintely not for some one who wants to grow in technology.

Interviewed there for Lead Cloud Engineer. Didn't get it, but the office is cool, open space, people seem decent. And they're doing some cool stuff tech wise, considering they're a financial company.

My first job out of school was there as a Risk Associate. I enjoyed it but that was about a decade ago so I can't speak for it now.

    The Chicago campus is beautiful.
