Tell me it ain’t so
Define bankers. I would say in average swes makes more and the top 1% of each the swes would make more. But I think that bankers max is greater.
Some people on my floor make 1 million in bonuses at an age of 28 years but they are fucked till eternity 😂😂
Meaning ?
Investment bankers are paid more but their personal life sucks while SWE are more relaxed and less tensed. So if you take into consideration that SWE earns more because abuse done to body by I bankers need to be fixed which isn’t cheap 😂😂
investment bankers make fuck tons but have no lives. my buddy did it for 3 years then just went to a hedge fund
for jr roles? kinda. also 2x the hours. for sr? proper investment bankers would shit on any director/vp in tech, let alone some sr swe
Haha ya, a lot lot lot more
I picked the wrong career 😢
haha I know that’s exactly what I’ve been thinking
Do you guys knowhow much senior Investment bankers involved in deals like amazon Whole Foods, Aetna CVS merger gets ? That’s more then what a VP will make in his entire career at Tech company.
Investment bankers make like 140k first year out of school working 7 days 90-100 hour weeks. The stress is insane. The skill set is basically orthogonal with software engineering, and if you have both skills, software engineering is almost surely the better career path. Maybe 5% of the software engineers I’ve met would pass the social test required to rise even to mid rank in banking. So this questions doesn’t really matter in the end. The worst thing I’ve observed is when people who are talented technically fall into the hype of banking and give up all their human capital to grind in excel.
They make more than 140k
Not first year
My friend is an investment banker he is 28, has a 6m house in New York, married a beautiful model and enjoying life and I'm here crying over my 401 k going to the dumpsters this year.
