Just wondering if top school software engineers get laid off or is it only low tier school engineers
Nope. I was told by my manager one time that I was about to be put on pip, when I reminded him that I went to Stanford and he went to Berkeley. Then he shut up and made sure to give me only Exceeds Expectations or better since. This wouldn't have worked if he had went to MIT or same school though.
Hope you had a good tattying together session afterwards!
How did it come to pip if you are from Stanford?
No. Here is the formula: First idiots are laid off. Whatever their salary or background. Second. Overpaid people are laid off. You (elite school) fall into this category. You feel special but the reality you have been overpaid a big premium and have not performed. If you had you would not have been in the lay-off layer.
They always get laid, never laid off!
Serious question? Of course they get fired. No one knows or cares which school you went to after a very short amount if time
It's gaussian distribution even in Stanford / MIT. First of all the lower percentile might get a great offer from Campus but the mettle isn't proven they would get hints to move on. They find a place of their own and stay there for a longer period The ultra confident top.percentile, Chases the market valuations aggressively and move up the ladder. Net net both of them will survive because of the brand..
