I’m wondering if I should always tip the Uber eats driver ?
- Gig economy is on rise. If I start tipping everyone who gives me lift, delivers food, serves table, gardener, newspaper boy, and on and on and on, i would end up depending on someone else’s tip for my existence.
Stupid custom. Stupid people follow it to avoid the next guy not think bad about them.
Same as cashier in checkout asking for donation for the cancer foundation and every time you don’t donate someone die

- Reading latest news seems it doesn't matter, they get payed same either way? I feel fooled for falling for tipping just for the company to pocket more money. https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/why-instacart-doordash-workers-don-t-always-receive-tips-you-n965926
- Yeah but how am I supposed to keep track who gives the tip directly to drivers and who pockets it. I remember Amazon Fresh the first year I used it had no tipping option in the app, then silently added it with $5 default now another year later $7 default. Does this mean the driver now makes $7 more per order or is the company using the extra money to offset their own cost...? I can't spend all my time investigating how they operate, I just want my stuff (and that the company compensates their people fairly)
- Salesforce KeepItUpBrLooks like Amazon operates the same way... :/
