Do you use your personal Apple ID to log into your work Mac?

For those Apple users. I initially created a separate account to keep things separate, but now realized you can untick all the marks actually, so it might be fine in the end. Thoughts? If not, specifically why not?

I want to take advantage of things like copy paste from phone to laptop, unlock with watch, etc.

god no. i made an apple account for the office to tie specific software purchases to it, and be able to share the login w the team. i wouldnt put an apple id on any device but the device you own personally. πŸ™…πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

office also has rules around personal accounts connected to company devices. was sorta the only middle ground i could find when needing to install apps on (apple) test devices at work. actually has worked out w/o issue. but its a small team. 😬

Create a Apple account with your work email on your work device.

Add that email to your family share plan. You have access to all your apps and content, but can keep it locked down or access your music, and movies, etc.

I do the same thing with Dropbox. Refer my work email, then share a folder on my personal account with my work one.

If the computer gets wiped or I lose my job, my personal Dropbox has all my stuff and I can unshare it easily.

Like the song says "You gotta keep'm separated..." never give anyone an excuse to say you're abusing or using company resources for personal things. That's my take.
