If Leetcode does not specify the location, it could mix Microsoft US office with Microsoft China office for example. Any websites that filter by location?
How about letting me know exactly what will be asked in the interview. Actually one more, how about solving it for me once it is decided what will be asked to me.
I see your point and actually hate we have to play this game. Frustrating for a senior like me as I need to dig in for something useless. But leetcode is already out there and it is not in litigation so far. If we want the things to go in a right way, we should not have such websites. But then it will only help a group of cheaters who will share the problems in specific offices which is already happening. This whole leetcode thing is dumb to me. Interviewers should test for specific company values (eg leadership principle and discuss about experience). However interviewers are juniors these days and can’t ask such questions.
I believe the idea is that you solve so many LCs that you develop the logical thinking about how to solve a problem. The interviewers are encouraged to check problem solving skills and ability to read/write code. Nobody(as far as I know) is going to compile your code or fail you because there were a few errors in the code. Continue focus on quality of code, asking clarifying questions, break a complex problem into smaller solvable problems and demonstrate that in your interview. I am sure most of the interviewers will be impressed. All the best.
Time for feature request. They can then visualize across geo what categories of questions are popular in which part of the world :)
My hunch is that they are not doing it as 1) pool of problem sets will be too small outside of a few locations 2) small set can expose the interviewee.
