Curious if most of Blinders think that Tesla really makes the best electric cars -- after all there are many alternatives such as Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, BMW i3 etc. What company makes the best electric car, what is it and why do you thinks so? Also, what is the best electric car model overall looking at all different qualities?

Who has a better charger network and battery range?
Been driving a model 3 for just over an year, it keeps getting better, Spotify, YouTube, Netflix smart summon, autopilot etc are killer features, Tesla has an upstart on software like any other big tech company and it's going to be really hard for others to catch up.
If the market dictates success then there is no question.
answer is a VERY BIG YES
Competition is years, at best, from catching up.
Teslaaaaa
Pistons in car engines moves in a vertical motions. Automakers have spent years trying to perfect how to convert this verticals motion (which happens in the front of the car - the engine), into a circular motion to all four wheels. 90% of the effort on auto production was focused on this. Then Tesla comes along and said letms not compliance cars with all these mechanical parts. Let’s create a simple drivetrain and have it programmable to move things, from the wheels to the screen and everything in between. Now that is a lot of computation and programming. Because the gas car wheels goes round and round due to a freakin stick connected to it from the engine. Tesla cars will need to do some fancy coding for the wheels to know when to turn based on some kind of signal from the motor. The two process is so different and people don’t realize it. That’s why Tesla is literally a freakin computer on wheels, computer that you happens to be able to sit in.
They certainly make the best experience. Is it, all things considered, the “best”? I think it really determines how the term is defined. There are more affordable motors, better cars for reliability, fewer glitches, etc. and the rest of the world is quickly catching up: Polestar, Audi, etc. however, Tesla definitely set the early bar.
Tesla is trying to do to the car, what apple did to phones. Do you see your phone as a phone or computer. When’s the last time you seen one of those things connected to the phone line. Can you even imagine using a phone that all it do is calling people? The internal combustion engine is being replaced with a freakin electric motor and along it, an entirely new way the automobile operates. Tesla got the jump on this tech and all other makers is new to this field from a mass production perspective.
Tesla got the jump on the tech. But they don’t have the jump from a manufacturing perspective. Also, their trying to handle change management like a software developer, which causes problems in a manufacturing world.
Manufacture of what? The batteries? I bet you Tesla get those out before Toyota, BMW, Ford, GM, etc etc. The rest of the physical parts on a Tesla is different and not something that can be integrated into an existing manufacturing supply chain. All those million dollar machines designed to install engines into cars will be useless in building an ev. Don’t get me started on the process in place to actually build an IC engine....
