Say if I want to join Google as a Web Solutions Engineer, but then leave in 2 years and start interviewing elsewhere and claim that (in person and resume) I'm a SWE at Google, would the company be able to find out that I'm not through a background check?
They will find out when they interview you.
"What did you do at Google?" "Programmed stuff" "Like what?" "Ya know, code and shit" How your interviews will go
Op- You sound like Trump. Stop watching Trump
Sounds more like Joe Biden. Stop watching Joe Biden
Biden would not ask such a dumb question. He would pull it off and trump would have to hire the Soviet Union to Investigate.
No. It’s actually fairly common to do stuff like that. No one cares as long as you do a good job at your next job
Doubtful they'd find out. And if they did and they liked you they wouldn't care. Don't go crazy inventing titles and it'll be fine.
Yes. Title and period of employment are both part of basic background verification that any major company does.
Just use WSE on your resume. Engioat Google still carries weight. Just went to another company and the BG check from Google had my full job ladder and level. It was highlighted as "review" because it was not the same as the more specific job function I listed. No problem at all, but it will be flagged and reviewed. Tell the truth, not just because it's the right thing to do, but you can also lose your job of you don't.
