MPG - Miles per Gallon My average is way lower than the mentioned one. If yes, please share your vehicle details! TC: 300k YOE: 2
Worse than the old MPG and better than the revised MPG
Avoid braking often
I brake when required!
I drive like I'm at war with the other drivers, so my MPG is a bit less.
Chill buddy! It is better late than never.
Try driving nice in LA, that'll get you killed.
American brands, Nissan, Subaru, Hyundai are notorious for inflated MPG. Honda tend to keep it real
You will almost never get the MPG advertised as those are recorded under controlled conditions to maximize MPG for marketing
Actually Accord’s advertised MPG is kind of real. I own a Honda Accord 2013 EX-L. The advertised MPG is 27/36 (city/highway). If there are not too many red lights then 27 is doable in the city. It’s easy to get to 36 on highway and I hit 39.9 one time on a trip to JFK from middle of the Long Island.
YMMV
Look into hypermiling techniques and you will find what you seek
Mine doesn't even show the mpg but seems pretty close to spec. As others said, optimum mpg is at a certain speed which I don't think is the same. Might depend on engine. Every other factor counts: load, road conditions, slope, air drag if window down. The engine's miles makes a big difference.
Yep. Keep in mind mpg is mostly highway. Not rush hour stop and go. You'll never hit the mpg if you live in or commute to a city.
I understand that. But tell me this. If I drive at speed of 40-50 miles/hour it gives me to stated MPG but above that it just decreases my MPG significantly. On highways/freeways I cannot drive at 40-50.
Mpg is supposed to be at 55 mph. And yes highways are not set for speeds to optimize mpg.
