  • Don't choose DoorTrash. Needless to say that stock price is outrageously inflated.

    Walmart is actual money

Have a very good friend at DoorDash who says the culture is very bad. Very inexperienced management, personal connections triumph your actual contributions etc etc

Good for you my friend, but this is not just from one person - itโ€™s from 3 in 3 different teams. Things might have changed, it was about one and half years ago when I was considering their offer

DoorDash! Also, we work with Walmart Labs on various projects (we have a big grocery delivery contract with them). We're growing like crazy and you can really make an impact on the infra team if you're to join. I work on a feature team but happy to provide more info if you'd like.

Doordash. In terms of cash Doordahs is 170+8.5=178.5, whereas Walmart is 145+22k(perf bonus) + 5(stock) = 172. Remember you only vest 25% of the stock grant each year at Walmart. Their vesting policy sucks.
I have a better offer than yours at Walmart for a new grad role. I believe you have room for negotiation. Ask for 160k base, negotiate for 401k match from first year and a better signon. If this doesn't work out go for Doordash.

160K for New Grad? Do they really offer this much money to a new grad?

I said OP should ask for 160k considering he/she has 3.5 yes experience cumulative. I was offered higher than 145k but not 160k

Doordash is absolute trash. Go there if you want to meet kids and fresh grads who think they know everything. Everyone in their company including their "director of engineering" is a fucking kid lol. Does that ring a bell?
Their market is also saturated as fuck and all they're planning to do is build a delivery service which companies like Uber and Amazon already excel at.
Walmart has better prospects as a company.

I don't know about DoorDash but @WalmartLabs you are granted with RSU every year. So with your 80k it will be like
    1. Granted: 80. Vested: 0. Left: 80
    2. Granted: 80. Vested: 20. Left: 140
    3. Granted: 80. Vested: 20 + 20. Left: 180
    4. Granted: 80. Vested: 20 + 20 + 20. Left: 200

That sounds about right. Can I ask if your RSU are tied to performance? My contract says they are tied to performance. Is this general lingo or does not everyone get the full 80k per year?

I also had an offer from DoorDash about one and half years ago and did some research with my connections there. Culture seems to be very bad, lots of inexperienced managers with no clue about growing their engineers. You canโ€™t do much if you donโ€™t know the right people. Things might have changed, but I would be careful and research more

  • You actually believe doordash stock is worth 70$?

I'd be very happy if Postmates or DoorTrash IPOs at 30 per stock. Don't fall in the trap :p
    Nov 16, 2018 1
    • DoorDash ZH9jRPC7
You do understand that absolute price of one stock is not directly related to how good a company or its business is right? I can't say about postmates, but, I'm fairly confident that our stock value will continue to go up unless the market conditions change.

DoorDash because base is higher. It would help if you try to switch. Also itโ€™s a good startup to join.
