Was attracted to them during my first internship six years back. Would love to hear about the cost of maintaining these or daily-ing them. In Bay area but might move to Seattle in sometime.

I'm some what short at 6'2 by Blind standards so can't really take bigger bikes.

Any ownership reviews?

      "feels way too tiny between"

What do you mean about this? Like you don't like that it feels too narrow, or something about the lowered stance and riding posture is too uncomfortable?

When you seem super interested in bigger adventure bikes, is it just that you love that style or are you open to any large comfy bikes? Like maybe sport tourers as well

Lowered stance and riding posture. The sportbikes are cool looking but not a fun to ride unless it's super safe for a track. I'm not going to trust the interstate where people just ride on the lines and weave around.

I so far have owned the CBR 250, Ninja 300, Interceptor, Super Duke, Naked Duke. All this was three years back and now possibly want to re-enter something that can take me places.

Yeah unless you plan to ride dirt or you just like the style (and that's totally valid) adventure bikes aren't really meant for that persay. Plus they're like the definition of a tall bike. You probably won't be able to flat foot it unless you lower it. Which is also fine but like it can be avoided.

Maybe take a look at the style of some of the bikes here: https://www.rideapart.com/articles/254924/10-bikes-that-are-actually-comfortable/amp/

There are other styles like sport touring (I like the VFR) or upright commuting bike (ncx is awesome). You can roughly spec out the ergonomics on any bike (upright vs lean, flat foot vs tip toe) by plugging in your dimensions into www.cycle-ergo.com and trying out some different models.

No wonder you shat on the Panigale. There are a few startups but it's not really a thing. You're best off scheduling test rides at dealerships.

Maybe I'm a hipster but the new triumph scramblers are just so cool. Have you considered them at all? Otherwise my vote is for the GS

Scramblers have too much drag when you're on interstate.
      Jun 27
    • Google yandere
You mean wind buffeting for you, not drag on the bike right? That's kind of a trivial detail, you can easily put on a windscreen on a naked bike.

I wouldn't discount the scrambler so quickly, the new triumph scramblers have nice styling and do really well on the dirt. Call it a scrambler or adventure bike or whatever you want, it's more similar to the GS than you might think. The larger model is also really tall.
      Jun 28
    • Google yandere
Nevermind I thought you liked adventure style because you were too tall. Seems like it's not a plus to have a tall bike necessarily.

Wait. You meant to say scramblers are tall?
      Jun 28
    • Google yandere
The triumph scrambler in particular is tall. I meant to say that as a "plus" for you because I thought you wanted a tall bike for some reason. Then I saw you actually don't want a super tall bike.
      Jun 28
    • Google yandere
Also I wonder if you're confusing the triumph scrambler with the Ducati scrambler. They're really different.

GS = big and comfy for long distances. Hyper for all around hoonage. Multistrada might split the difference
