I am Indian and researching on EB-5. If I apply for it by mid 2019 what is the approximate timeline to get the temporary GC? I am on L1 B visa which I can use for up to 5 years so wondering if it’s the right path? Please provide some evidence for timeline as USCIS bulletin states it’s current as of now. Secondly has anyone looked or worked with Behring Co?
2 - 3 years.if GC is worth it to you then definitely yes
Not really, India retrogression expected to kick in sometime this year and for about 6 year wait. By the time your i526 is processed the backlog can increase . Your money needs to be at risk until your pd is available . Doesn't seem like a viable especially since it may need to change multiple hands , most projects are 4-5 years duration .
It will take at least 7-8 years to get real GC. You are risking your hard earned money until then with some unknown people .
You don't get your money back until GC? Or do you get it after getting EAD?
You will have keep money with the EB5 projects until you get the green card. That’s the one of the requirements.
If you start a successful business who cares whether you get a GC. Successful business is its own reward (literally, you can get rich). You guys seem to think this is meant to be a way to buy a greencard. That's just more of the abusive attitude that already ruined h1b and the India GC queue. Here's an idea: Instead of trying to game the system why not actually be an honest applicant. Invest money in a good business idea and really try to make it work. See if you can really build something bigger than you thought possible. Be an entrepreneur FOR REAL. Maybe a difference in the world by getting a successful business going. And if you're successful then eventually you will also get a greencard. That's the idea, so why are you talking about pulling your money out after you get the GC? Why are you not trying to build a business you'd be proud to grow for many years?
This looks like a poster child of imperialism. Can u explain how H1b is abuse?
H1b is meant for people who have a high degree of specialized skill that is in short supply. When an h1b goes to a SWE at a real tech company that is exactly what we're getting, and that's not abuse. We get lots of great people from India like this. But that's not the majority of h1b's. The majority are going to minimally qualified people churned out of minimally accredited schools in a system designed to exploit the US immigration system by spamming half completed applications in order to win lottery spots. These barely qualifed warm bodies are then pushed into sweat shops by consulting firms that house them in barracks and pay them the least amount possible. That's abuse, and all those applications end up in the greencard queue which is why it's a hundred years long. If this were fixed India probably wouldn't even have a backlog and the h1b lottery wouldn't be such a crap shoot for the high quality people we actually want. This actually hurts qualified Indian immigrants more than anyone else as they end up unable to get greencards.
There is lots of scams happening in the EB5. There is no security for your money. Some companies already got bankrupted after being in few years. They investors got lost the money!!!
Will I get the green card irrespective of whether the company succeeded or not?
Yup. Saw somewhere 80% chance you’ll get money back with interest
I have the same question.
