Had posted this thread last year, since it's 2019 and I'm closer to executing it, wanted more opinions. https://us.teamblind.com/s/VbwkUMrg Already explored of all the subreddits, looking for perspective from females in tech with similar working hours and work stresses. Thanks and have a good weekend.
Also interested. Amazon had a small discussion last year but I’m still fuzzy about the cost. I know there are some leading facility in San Fran but not sure of seattle
Do you know the name of leading facilities in SF?
Yes, UCSF and PFC
Emotional stability was absolutely terrible. And the injections were bad at first but you got used to them. It's hard to imagine sticking yourself with a 2 inch needle every day for 2 weeks.
Was it painful? Also is it absolutely mandatory to self administer or will the clinic do it for a price? Were you able to work? Did you live single/ alone during this time?
What? You have to inject hormones to yourself with a needle for 4 weeks?
🍿
Interested. My friends are, too.
I'm thinking about doing it. I'm 35 though and might be too late. don't know if it's worth all the effort. Any info?
My friend did it when she was 35. She had very few eggs left but was able to freeze those few
How did she know she had few eggs? Is there a test for determining this? My obgyn at Kaiser didn't tell me this.
Have you went to a fertility clinic or doctor yet? They will explain everything. My obgyn sent me to one immediately. She said come back when you're pregnant. Lol. There are tons of tests. Go get them done then you'll be able to make an informed decision.
Yes the doctor will give you test so you will know where you stand
A woman's chance of pregnancy per month at age 35 is only 3% if trying with a partner to get pregnant, so you are looking at MTTB (mean time to birth) of more than 3.5 yrs, and a single child family! So thirty five is already too late to have a 2-child family! We did (fertilized) egg freezing (@28 years old) but 3 years later there was no pregnancy.
What is fertilized egg freezing?
Already inseminated egg, they have higher viability after fertilization.
I went to Seattle reproductive Center for Artificial insemination treatment I think it was called and I wasn’t too impressed with them. They’re all business and it’s like the Ford motors for women trying to get preggers. The hormones made me crazy and I gave up before committing to IVF. I was 40....Also there’s a way to pay to have the eggs tested for viability once they’re able to take your eggs. . My 41 year old friend was producing many eggs, then testing only to find out they weren’t viable. Which was good as she knew she needed to repeat the process. She’s now got some on ice!! This testing decreases chance of miscarriage as miscarriage can be due to abnormal eggs & after all that work I thought she was really smart for doing the testing. Best of luck to you!!
🍿 I should start thinking about it too I feel .. I am 29
Recommend you boost priority of finding a mate if you are heterosexual. This means marriage comes before work and play.
Boosting priority of finding a mate before work or play is going to land to in the mental asylum. The dating world is not for the faint of heart and you don't even control the outcomes!
