Evaluating FB marketing offer

I got an initial offer from Facebook for marcomm role in Menlo. Level: IC6

Anyone have a sense of the ranges for these comp elements? They’re aware I’m walking away from unvested equity.

Any tips that can aid in negotiation?

Sounds good to me. Aim 20% higher than their offer and do it with confidence.

Oh ok cool thanks! You think it’s good across all dimensions (e.g. base vs equity)? I’m assuming target bonus is not negotiable?

The ratio between base vs equity seems to be over average since you are leaving equity behind, and they know it? Just an assumption. You are getting a performance bonus anyway. If you over perform and you get a higher ranking than “meets all” there can be some good money on top. I definitely recommend to negotiate, you might know that every offer is not the potentially last word. :)

Totally, I’d never accept the first offer :)

Wait. Equity is 175 over four years meaning about 45k per year? That is quite low unless I misunderstood

Exactly, this is what stood out the most but I realize Google is pretty generous with RSUs

TC at Google for L6 marketing person is about 320-350k. So you should get better than that at FB

I have 8-10 depending on how you weight part time work during business school. I’ve heard mixed things about # expected for IC6

The rsu is on the low side imo maybe try adding 20% more to base?

Still seems high considering the measurable impact of marcomm efforts as a whole.
