Expected tc for 12 yoe at amazon, location sf
Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me the tc range for amazon sde 2 at sf ?
Current TC and level at AAPL?
I was told max sde2 was 282k without special approval
That sounds right. I think normal max is 260ish. Bay is a little higher. You need VP approval for out of band

Do not take SDE2 with 12 yoe. That's crazy. It's a position most people get to in 1.5 years after college.
1.5 years after college should be SDE1
levels are about capabilities, not yoe

Don't take SDE II, Amazon itself is bad enough... How many years at Apple?
Just wondering, was those 12 years at Apple or a mix of other companies? I had third hand info about what the apple tech stack is like and what the day to day is like, I could be wrong, but in some teams, 12 YOE doesn’t make you way better than someone with 2 YOE because of the lack of exposure to larger projects and work.
I took SDE 2 after 23 yoe. Unfortunately I was already Pivot detritus by the time my silver anniversary arrived.
What role? HR business partner, SDE, or TPM, or QA? Also, what level if you know?
