My friend with one year experience in Amazon received an SDEI offer from Expedia with 120K + 12% target + 20k sign on + No RSU. Is this a good offer? Also, how does the offer process work in Expedia? Is this number proposed by the manager or HR? Thanks!
How does that compare with their current comp at Amazon? Also location?
I think it's the Seattle office. He is making similar money in Amazon, but doesn't like the WLB and it's difficult to move internally in Amazon according to him.
Wow thts a good offer, more than what some sde2 make i hear
Hmm, interesting. Not sure if it's good news for him though LOL I thought MSFT is already on the cheaper end compared to similar companies, but when I first heard the number, it sounds like lvl 60 in MSFT minus RSU. Does Expedia not give RSU to entry-mid level SDE?
Seems inline to their offers . New grad is 105+12 percent + 20k in Seattle.
For SDE 1, this is very good offer. High end.
Don’t go to Expedia. You can’t learn a lot as engineer. The engineering quality there is horrible. Also Expedia is not considered “tech” company, so it won’t add much value on your resume
Your “friend” needs to sack up and ask for him/herself
Why bother to reply if you aren't gonna help?
Why bother to post if you aren’t going to ask questions for yourself?
