Hey guys, I'm looking for new grad referrals π . First, a little bit about me: - Grinded LC + CTCI + EPI for over 1 year straight. I grind LC during class, on the toilet, after midnight, while on the phone. I even tried to do it in the shower once. Overall, 400 LC completed (75 Hard). Before you ask: Yes, this includes LRU Cache and trapping rainwater. - Top 10 on 2 LC competitions, Top 50 on several more. - ~1900 Codeforces Rating, grinded CF for about 6 months as well. - For every company that I have gotten the initial recruiter contact, I have gotten all the way to the offer, 100% of the time. This includes Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Bloomberg. - Have multiple side projects across different technologies (Backend, Mobile, Web w/ React, Machine Learning). Have won 2 hackathon awards. I'm looking for referrals for Software Engineering positions (new grad level). I'm most interested in: - Unicorns - Promising Startups - Quant Companies Thank you for reading and if there is anything I can do in return, please let me know!
Iβll ask the important question here: if you have gone all the way to the offers at FANG, does it mean that you are looking for referrals at Unicorns, startups and quant companies? Because you must already have offers from FANG.
Yeah, definitely interested in those companies! I'm also interested in (relatively) smaller public companies like Snap and Dropbox. Yeah i already got offers from FANG haha.
Dude.. the LC gods bow down to you. DM'd for referral
Thank you so much!
How can mortals compete :/
Whats a quant company?
Sorry for not clarifying. I was referring to companies like Two Sigma, Jane Street, Citadel, etc.
Stupid question: how long does it actually take yβall to solve 1 LC hard?
I can do a typical LC Hard (4th question on the LC Weekly Contests) in about 8-12 minutes. However i have tons of competitive programming experience due to grinding Codeforces and similar websites, so I definitely don't think that is the expectation during interviews haha.
How did you improve in CF? Did you upsolve a lot?
Your CF id please
I want to maintain anonymity so I won't post publicly, however I will happily share proof of any of the above with referrers in DM.
Sorry no referral use here but do you recommend grinding codeforces over LC to level up your prep? Or any advice on getting better at prep?
It depends. CF has a lot of problem types that dont appear in interviews (properties on prime numbers, geometric/coordinate problems, etc). However, it definitely assists in being way more confident during interviews and overall problem solving abilities that may indirectly aid interview performance.
I have a friend of a friend of a friend who can give you Albertsons. Let me know if you're up for the offer.
Wow, inspiring. How did you find the motivation to grind when you already have offers from FANG? 50% of my motivations vanishes the second I land my first decent offer
Eventually I want to start my own company, and the best way to learn how to do that is to work at promising smaller companies / elite unicorns, that's why I didn't stop when I got FANGs.
Damn, someone get this man a referral! Edit: Check you inbox, messaged you about my company. Series B startup with a ton of potential.
Hahaha
Thanks, definitely interested!
