FB level negotiable
Are levels at Facebook negotiable? I received strong interview performance feedback but I think they are using my current level as a the main point of calibration even though I've held more senior roles in other companies.

It definitely is. They wanted me to come in at an E5 but I was able to negotiate them down to E4 in exchange for a higher number of non-vacation days and larger number of icons on my work computer.

It's illegal for companies to ask for your current comp in CA specifically for this reason.
It's doable, but you need a strong counter offer and an internal recommendation. It's hard, but I saw a couple of cases. Usually E4 -> E5. It's extremely hard to get an E7 offer. E6 is usually considered for those who have 15+ years. FB first roughly targets your level based on your years of experiences, your previous company, and your degree etc. Can you give us more info?
Is the comp the same?
Only after making special adjustments. My compensation at my current company is about one level higher.
