FB not responding to my applications

I applied about a year ago when I was a student for a software engineering job but didn't get a response. I figured it was because of something in my resume or the lack of experience. I graduated and tried again with a much better resume. An active guthub account and with 10 projects in my portfolio. A tutoring experience. And continuous volunteering at an NGO as a web developer but still got nothing even though it was a new grad position and LinkedIn said I was in the top 25% of applicants, and still no response. I definitely don't feel that they owe me a response or anything but I want to ask you if they have some special skills that they look for that are different from others. Keeping in mind that I already got interviews with Google and MS with similar applications.

Sorry they have filled their quota for middle easterners who are men. Maybe try again as a middle eastern female? Gotta be diverse and all you know...

When it comes to new grads, Facebook is known to hire mostly returning interns or references.

Applying to positions online now is really tough. I suggest talking directly to a recruiter via LinkedIn or some other channel.

Thanks! Have you ever tried that? Most of the people I msg just viewy profile and ignore the msg

I haven’t done it on LinkedIn but there are sites like CodeFights where you take an assessment and the recruiters contact you. I’ve done that

Best choice is referrel. Otherwise contact facebook recruiters on LinkedIn, also apply for open roles on LinkedIn. Company job portals are basically a black hole where resumes go to die.

Thanks! Would you know how I should approach the recruiter with this subject? I sent a msg to an Nvidia recruiter and they just viewed my profile and never responded.

Are you still in school? 90% of the new college grads @ big companies are usually interns converted to full time or from campus recruitment. You just gotta keep applying and not just focus on Facebook or google.

Thanks! I just finished my Master's but I was new to the field so I couldn't get an internship. I'm even considering doing another MS or a PhD just to get internships then movr to the industry

Quote from Internet “According to this infographic about landing a job at Apple, Google or Facebook, Facebook has 330 job openings (55 for software engineers) and receives 250,000 job applications per year. If you do the math, the chance you have of landing any job at Facebook is 330 / 250,000 = 0.132%. “ Just keep trying. LinkedIn stats doesn’t mean anything
