Hi, I’ll be joining Facebook in July, and like everyone else, ll’ be going through the Bootcamp. Throughout my career I’ve been working with Java stack and bit of node. Any advice on brushing up any specific programming languages to make life a little easy during early days?? Cheers...
Enjoy this time before joining.. travel as much. You will regret missing up on this opportunity of not taking some time for yourself or time off..
Learn php and hacklang if u r joining product team, c++ python otherwise
Flow (web client), Java (Android), Objective C are the client languages. Mid tier is Hack Back-end is C++ Python is used in a lot of places (tests, build scripts, data pipelines, config).
Php, Hack, Litho (if you are an Android dev), GraphQL. Welcome to FB and good luck! :)
How do you join a bootcamp? And do you automatically get a job offer?
Yeah. Right after you join, you'll be put in a boot camp.
Ahh no I heard there are some learning courses at fb in which they extend an offer fter you do that course
Don’t prepare for boot camp. Enjoy this time without long term job responsibilities. You will have plenty of time to learn new things during boot camp. Most engineers we hire have never worked with php before. Worst case, you spend a couple of extra weeks in boot camp before joining a team with no cost or negative impact to you.

You’ll be working on all kinds of languages during boot camp ... you need to just be a quick learner and the tasks aren’t that hard
